Mamata to meet industry representatives ahead of rail budget preparations

In a prelude to the preparations of the forthcoming rail budget, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee will meet industry representatives on Saturday. Representatives from all chambers of commerce including CII, ASSOCHAM and FICCI in an exercise which is likely to see the industry, as it comes out of recession, pressing for more sops from railways. <br/><br/>According to Railway sources, about 600 members are likely to attend the meet. Giving the size of the expected participants, the venue is being fixed at the Eco park in Chanakyapuri. Railways recent initiative of involving the industry<br/><br/>through PPP model for the development of infrastructure would figure prominently in the pre-budget exercise.<br/><br/>Railway budget is scheduled to be presented on 24th of February.
