Trinamool Congress Chief Mamata Banerji will meet the Congress leader Pranab Mukherji in Kolkata this evening to formally request the main ally Congress party to join the coalition government. She is also likely to discuss the cabinet formation.In the 294 member assembly, Trinamool Congress alliance won three fourth majority in the new assembly and the party on its own secured 181 seats. Congress bagged 42 seats.Two seats went to Trinamool partner SUCI. Mamta Bannerjee has already staked her claim to form the the first non communist party Government in West bengal after 34 years. AIR correspondent reports that Mamata Banerji has already declared that she will keep the size of the cabinet smaller than that of the Left Front. The newly elected members of both the Trinamool Congress and Congress parties will meet in Kolkata tomorrow to chart out the future course of action.
