The West Bengal Chief Minister Miss Mamata Banerjee reiterated that her Government will not forcefully acquire land for Industries. Addressing a public rally at Singur on Monday afternoon, Miss Banerjee said that, the Government will take appropriate steps to return land to the unwilling farmers of Singur after the Court case on the issue is over.Miss Banerjee said that, the TATA Motors can setup industry in 6 hundred acres of land in Singur and remaining 4 hundred acres of land will be returned to the unwilling farmers.She said that, the Government intends to setup a model on the use of land for agriculture and industry in the area. Miss Banerjee announced launching of Kishan crops Insurance Scheme to protect farmers during unfavourable times. She informed that, the Government will appoint two ‘Kishan Bandhu’ in each block of the State.Reacting sharply on the violent activities of Maoists in Jangle Mahal the Chief Minister asserted that initiatives for talks and killings cannot continue side by side. Ms. Banerjee ruled out the allegations of the opposition Left front on violence in the State after assumption of new Government in office.
