The Railway Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee has ordered an inquiry over yesterday's derailment of Metro Rail in Kolkata. Ms. Banerjee said that action will be taken against those who are responsible for this after specific inquiry. Talking to newsmen i n Kolkata last evening Ms. Banerjee appealed Metro commuters not to get panicky. Meanwhile, the West Bengal Chief Minister Mr. Buddhadev Bhattacharjee has expressed serious concern over the passenger’s safety in Metro Rail. Mr. Bhattacharjee asked the Chief Secretary to convene a meeting on the issue. The City Police Chief Mr. Gautam Mohan Chakraborty has submitted a report to the Government on yesterday's incident. AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that Metro services were disrupted for nearly 11 hours yesterday following derailment of two bogies of a train. The incident is the first of its kind in the history of Metro Rail services in Kolkata which took place at busy office hours at underground while it was entering Central Station from Dumdum.
