The Railway Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee laid the foundation stone of expansion project of Metro Railway from Dumdum to Dakshineswar in Kolkata today. Speaking on the occasion, Ms.Banerjee said that the project will be implemented in two phases. In first phase the expansions of metro rail will be done upto Barahanagar and Rs. 285 crore has been sanctioned for this purpose. In second phase, it will be extended upto Dakshineswar from Barahanagar.<br/><br/>AIR Kolkata correspondent reports that there will be three stations betwen Dumdum to Dakshineswar in the 5.2 km. long stretch and the stations will be named after Ma Sharada, Swami Vivekaanda and Swami Ramakrashnadev. The Railway Minister also announced that Delhi Mumbai youth express will be flagged off on the birth day of Swami Vivekananda on 12th of this month which is being celebrated as national youth day throughout the country. The Railway Minister also said that special train will run from Hawrah to Belur regularly from the birth day of Swami Vivekananda.
