West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the long awaited Kolkata-Durgapur-New Delhi flight yesterday. It connects the industrial city of Durgapur directly with the National Capital. <br/><br/>Ms. Banerjee, who boarded the flight after inaugurating it in Kolkata on her way to Delhi said, Air India would start operating on the sector thrice-a-week from December 21.<br/><br/>Initially, it will operate the 122-seater, Airbus-319 aircraft on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Before boarding the flight, the Chief Minister said, the service would help in growth of industry, commerce and tourism in the region.
