Railway Minister Mamata Banerji felicitated the Commonwealth Games medal winning athletes of Indian Railways in a function held in New Delhi on Tuesday evening. Thirteen gold, 3 silver and 9 bronze medal winning Railways athletes were awarded cash prizes of 10 lakh rupees for gold winners, 6 lakhs for silver medalists anf and 4 lakh rupees for Bronze. Besides service related incentives were also given to them.Congratulating the medal winners Banerji said that Indian Railways will provide all possible help and facility to the sports persons even by going beyond the policy guide-lines of the Department so that they bring greater honours to the country in future. The athletes were overjoyed as well, with the kind of support they have received from the Railway Ministry.
