Mamata expresses concern over rising incidents of alleged intolerance

The West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chairperson Ms. Mamata Banerjee today expressed her concern over the rising incidents of alleged intolerance in the country. She demanded to know from the party in power at the Centre as to how they can dictate to people, what they can wear or eat. Speaking of brotherhood and communal harmony at an event at Sahid Minar in Kolkata today, Ms. Banerjee while condemening all forms of terrorism, said that terrorists have no religion. <br/><br/>Slamming her detractors who were questioning why she was attending today's event, Ms Mamata Banerjee said that questions are not raised when one attends functions of Ramakrishna Mission or Bharat Sevasram Sangha. She said, she visits the church on Christmas and also functions of Bharat Sevasram Sangha as well as Guru Nanak's birthday celebrations. She asked why could she not attend a Muslim event.
