West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has directed the Government-appointed mediators to continue talks with Maoist to bring peace in Jungle Mahal in the State. Banerjee had a meeting with the mediators in Kolkata Saturday afternoon to restore peace in the Maoists-infested region.Later, talking to newsmen the chief Interlocutor Sujato Bhadra said that peace initiatives will continue with the Maoists to bring them into main stream of national life and to expedite development.Meanwhile, the union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh on Saturday visited the Maoists-infested areas in West Midnapore District of West Bengal to have a fast hand experience on the works of the centrally sponsored schemes in the region. Ramesh said that the centre has adopted a two-pronged policy to deal with the Maoists menaces which include political dialogue and rural development. Ramesh said that the centre has identified 60 districts in the country as naxalite infested of which three are in West Bengal .
