Mamata criticises increase in petrol & diesel prices

The West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has strongly criticised the decision of oil companies to increase Petrol and Diesel prices. Reacting sharply in Kolkata on Wednesday evening, Ms Banerjee said that the unilateral decision is paving the way for political confrontation with the Centre.

Demanding immediate roll back, she said that the decision to increase petro-prices is an attempt to defame the government of the coalition partner in the state. Petrol and diesel prices were hiked today in seven states including West Bengal after adjustment of taxes while LPG prices have been slashed in the state.
