In the cartoon controversy about the West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee, the State Human Rights Commission has recommended departmental enquiry against two police officials. The report of the bench headed by the Chief of the Commission Justice Ashok Kumar Gangly has indicted the two police officers in the case against Professors Ambikesh Mahapatra and Subrata Sengupta in the cartoon case. The behaviour of the two police officers in the case is under question, according to the Commission. The Commissioner has also recommended a grant of 50 thousand rupees to the two professors for the State Government.
