Ms.Mamta Banerjee was sworn in as the Chief Minister of West Bengal. The state Governor Mr. M K Narayanan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Ms.Banerjee at a glittering function at Raj Bhavan in Kolkata on Friday afternoon. Besides Ms.Banerjee 37 Ministers were also sworn in. Out of total ministers, 36 are from Trinamool Congress and remaining two from Congress. 34 Ministers are of cabinet rank while remaining four has been inducted as Minister of states. AIR correspondent reports that five minister of state belonging to the Congress will take oath later. Union Ministers Mr.Pranab Mukherjee and Mr. P Chidambaram, former Chief Minister Bhudadeb Bhattacharjee, Left Front Chairman Biman Basu were present at the ceremony. Captains of industry, eminent personalities from social and cultural fields besides families of the victims of Singur and Nandigram anti-land acquisition movements attended the historic event.
