Mali became the first team to enter the semi-finals of the 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup, beating Ghana 2-1 in the quarter-final match at Guwahati today. The African champions were on point with their tactical gameplan as well as execution and reduced the strong Ghana side to mere onlookers as they mounted attack after attack in the first half.In poor playing conditions amidst heavy rainfall, Ghana struggled to get the ball on their feet and build their game. Goals from Hadji Drame and Djemoussa gave Mali the lead but Ghana pulled one back from a Kudus Mohammed penalty. Mali endured a nervous final 15 minutes but Ghana failed to find the back of the net.The second quarterfinal match of FIFA Under-17 World Cup between England and USA in undeerway in Fatorda near Madgaon, Gao. USA reached the last eight after blanking Paraguay 5-0 in New Delhi, while England beat Japan in a penalty shootout in Kolkata in the Round of 16.This is the first time the teams are facing off at the Under-17 world cup.
