Maldivian Prez discusses homeland situation with PM on visit to Delhi

Maldivian President Dr. Mohammed Waheed met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh yesterday in New Delhi.

Dr. Waheed, who is in the country on a five-day official visit at the invitation of the Indian Prime Minister, reportedly discussed the present situation in Maldives with him.

This is the Maldivian President's first meetings with the Indian government after an extraordinary turn of events put him at the helm of affairs in the island nation. Dr. Waheed, who assumed the office of the President of the Republic of Maldives in February 2012, is also scheduled to visit Mumbai during his visit.
