Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih visits Jawaharlal Nehru Port on 2nd day of his Maharashtra visit

<span style="color: #222222;">President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih visited Jawaharlal Nehru Port on the second day of his Maharashtra visit today. During this visit, Chairman of JNPT Sanjay Sethi apprised him of the importance and special features of this port. After welcoming President Solih, Mr Sethi apprised him that this port is located very close to the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport and is well-connected by all modes of transport. He also informed that the port has now risen from 146 to 63 in the global rankings due to its consistent performance.<br />''<br />''Mr. Sethi said that this port has been expanded recently so that the resources can be more conveniently adapted to the growing needs. Describing waterways trade as the need of the day, from the environmental and cost point of view, the JNPT Chairman said that India is continuously emphasizing waterways trade and for this, a dedicated corridor is underway. Underlining the importance of the Special Economic Zone adjacent to the port, Mr. Sethi said that the activities in the port are getting new flight from it.</span><br />
