Foreign ministerAbdulla Shahid said in a message that Maldives welcome PM Narendra Modi'sinitiative to create the fund and pledge the amount to address issues emanatingfrom COVID-19. The decision was taken at meeting of National task force onCovid-19 headed by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The meeting also commendeddoctors, nurses and everyone involved for their hard work in full recovery ofthe first two infected patients in the country. Maldives has confirmed 13 casestill last week but has no fresh cases this week. Two of the 13 have recoveredwhile the rest are under treatment. An Indian medical team has reached earlythis month to help local authorities address the crisis.&nbsp;</span></p><br />
