Maldivian government on Tuesday granted permission for staging the concert by American singer Akon after the neighbouring Sri Lanka declared its intent not to grant him visa due to one of his video showing disrespect to Lord Buddha.Official sources in Male, however, said that the concert will be organized by a private entertainment company without the involvement of any government agency. No dates as of now have been decided for the concert.Three persons were injured after protesters in Colombo last week hurled stones at the offices of the MTV who were to be one of the sponsors of the concert.Several protesters were later arrested by police after the incident and later released on bail.
