In Maldives, the Parliament session was adjourned amidst chaos in the house today as opposition MPs were prevented from bringing the no confidence motion against parliament speaker for the second time.<br/><br/>Mohammed Maleeh, a former minister and currently MP told our correspondent that Parliament hardly worked for few minutes as the speaker, surrounded by security guards, did not allow any business of the house.<br/><br/>The no confidence motion was thwarted in a similar fashion last month as the party aligned to President Yameen Abdul Gayoom is feared to have lost the majority in Parliament. Opposition led by former President Mohammed Nasheed has claimed support of 45 MPs in the 85 member Majlis.<br/><br/>However, five of the MPs, who had switched sides to opposition, have been divested of their Parliamentary seats by country's election commission and the matter is pending before supreme court for final verdict. Maldives government has been accused of human rights violations and media suppression in recent times.
