Maldives government, in its continuing crackdown on opposition forces, arrested two members of Parliament on Sunday while Maldives United opposition asserted that President Yameen is now ruling the country illegally.<br/><br/>The two MPs, who were among the group of 12 reinstated by Supreme court ruling on Thursday, were detained at the airport shortly after they arrived in the country. <br/><br/>There were scenes of chaos at the parliament too, as military sealed off the building in an attempt to stop opposition MPs from entering the building. <br/><br/>Opposition group said in a statement that military personnel blocked the chamber, as opposition MPs tried to force a vote of no confidence against the Speaker of Parliament. <br/><br/>It said that the officials responsible for illegal takeover of the State will be brought to swift justice by future administrations. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, secretary general of Parliament and prisons chief resigned from their posts to reportedly protest against the government.<br/><br/>Earlier, the government asserted that Supreme court has no authority to seek removal of President while former President Mohammed Nasheed exhorted people to come out and protest against the delay in Supreme court ruling which ordered release of opposition leaders and reinstating of opposition MPs. <br/><br/>The government on Sunday said that the Prosecutor General's Office has apprised the Supreme Court of the numerous legal challenges in the implementation of the ruling.
