In Maldives, differences have surfaced among coalition partners of the government ahead of parliamentary elections as the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has maintained that it will contest the elections on its own. <br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Jumhooree Party leader and Parliamentary speaker Gasim Ibrahim has accused MDP of breaching a coalition agreement by deciding to field candidates in all 87 constituencies. Mr. Gasim said his party is prepared to go into talks with all sides to jointly field candidates for the parliamentary polls.</span><br />
