Tensions continue in the Maldives as the government has failed to comply with the Supreme court ruling ordering for the release of opposition leaders and begin retrial. <br/><br/>Dozens of anti-government protesters tried to gather in capital Male today which were dispersed by police. Protestors claimed that police used pepper sprays against them.<br/><br/>Earlier, Supreme Court had said that there should be no legal barrier to prevent the enforcement of its ruling last Thursday. The court said in a statement that there is nothing preventing the prosecutor general from seeking the retrial after the order is implemented. <br/><br/>The Court also cancelled an arrest warrant against a top supreme court administrator who was to register a corruption case against President Yameen, calling it against the established legal procedure.
