<span style="color: #222222;">Maldives high court on Thursday ordered the release of former President Abdulla Yameen from detention, days before parliamentary elections scheduled for 6th of next month. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Yameen was put under arrest by a ruling of Criminal Court last month in a case involving money laundering allegations and witness tampering. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The High Court order said that the maximum period of detention in such a case is 30 days which expired on the 18th of this month.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> Mr Yameen lost the Presidential elections last year to Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who has promised to be tough on corruption.
