Maldives committed to bring down carbon emission: Vice-Prez

Vice – President of Maldives Dr. Mohammad Waheed Hassan has said that his country is committed to bring down the carbon emission level substantially in next ten years. Speaking at a function of Observer Research Foundation in New Delhi, he said that climate change is a major challenge to democratically elected government of his island nation. He said that Maldives is one of the most vulnerable countries to the climate change and he expects help from countries like India in tackling this problem. He also said that his country will raise this issue in next SAARC summit to be held in Bhutan in April. Talking about education system in his country he said that Maldives is looking forward to collaborate with Indian universities.
