Malaysia is to repeal a much criticised security law which allows the government to detain people indefinitely without trial. The Prime Minister Najib Razak said the abolition of the Internal Security Act and other changes were aimed at ensuring modern, mature and functioning democracy. He said new legislation would be introduced to control suspected militants.
