Malaysia responds positively to India's bid for permanent membership to UNSC

Malaysia today agreed to consider positively India's request for support its candidature for permanent membership in the UN Security Council. This issue came up during the bilateral talks held between prime minister Narendra Modi and his Malaysia counterpart Mohd Najib Tun Andul Razak in Kuala Lumpur this morning. Later Secretary East Anil Wadhwa told reporters that Malaysia responded to India's request positively.<br/><br/>He said India expressed interest in more collaboration in Counter Terrorism Centre to be set up with the help of the United States of America while Malaysia expressed its interest in taking part in the manufacturing areas including in defence sector. <br/><br/><br/>On Infrastructure for India and South Asia, the Mr Wadhwa said, Malaysia has proposed three projects including Mumbai Circular Highway and Smart City projects besides Amaravathi re-gasification project. They will be considered initially by state Governments and the Centre. India has asked Malaysia to build a state of the art Convention Centre in Delhi under Government to Government basis as an exceptional case.
