The three major U.S. stocks ended lower yesterday. Investors remained cautious awaiting for the FED's statement at the end of its two-day policy meeting starting today.
Assurance from the US central bank, the Federal Reserve System, that rising prices are transitory boosted investor sentiment in previous sessions. Falling U.S. Treasury yields have also helped ease some concerns over inflation and supported U.S. stocks in recent weeks.
The Nasdaq Composite index declined 0.7 per cent, the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.3 per cent and the S&P 500 closed 0.2 per cent down.
