Major rivers are flowing above danger mark in UP

In Uttar Pradesh,major rivers are flowing above dengar line.The incessant rain in the state , coupled with release of waters by Nepal Government, resulted in the rise of water levels. Flood situation in Barabanki and Gonda districts has further worsened following breach in the ring dam submerging about 60 more villages yesterday. District officials have said that due to this breach 5 villages of Barabanki and 52 villages of Gonda have been affected. Officials have also claimed that people were rescued from the affected villages.The flood situation in Balrampur, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri and Sitapur continues to be serious as the water level of the rivers flowing through these districts has crossed the danger level mark. According to the Central Water Commission, the water-level of river Ghaghara had overshot the danger level and it was rising constantly in Ayodhya and Ballia. The Sharda River was on the rise in Lakhimpur Kheri even as the Yamuna River was showing rising trend at Mathura, Agra and Etawah. Meanwhile, three persons, including a minor girl, were killed and six others injured today in rain related incidents in Azamgarh and Ghazipur districts.
