In Uttar Pradesh, the state government has transferred 36 IPS officers in a major reshuffle. It has affected three Inspector Generals of Police, IGs and District police Chiefs of 31 districts. AIR Lucknow correspondent reports that IG Allahabad zone Mr. Surya Kumar Shukla has been shifted to Gorakhpur in the same capacity, whereas DIG Allahabad district Mr. Chandra Prakash has been promoted and posted as IG Allahabad zone. Two other IG level officers including the high profile then CBI joint Director Mr. Arun Kumar who were in waiting have also been given postings in this reshuffle.
