<span style="color: #222222;">A major explosion in a fire cracker unit in Tamil Nadu killed five women workers this afternoon.<br />'' <br />'' The incident occurred at T.Kallupatti village in Madurai district.<br />''  <br />'' About 50 workers were involved in manufacturing the fancy variety of fire crackers when the explosion occurred, killing the five on the spot.<br />'' <br />'' Three others are admitted into the Rajaji Hospital at Madurai with grievous injuries.<br />'' <br />'' The Fire and Rescue personnel from Madurai and Virudhunagar rushed to the spot and doused the fire after more than two and a half hours of hectic efforts.<br />'' <br />''It is said the manufacturing unit did not have the permission for the fancy type. A case has been filed against the owner of the unit.</span>
