Auto maker, Mahindra & Mahindra, on Thursday launched India's first compact truck–Gio–meant for intra-city operations. The four-wheeler has been priced at 1.65-lakh rupees. It is aimed particularly at rural and semi-urban consumers. The Chief of Operations, Automotive Sector, Rajesh Jejurikar, told reporters in Mumbai that the vehicle will hit the market on Friday covering the north, east and west zones of the country. He said that Phase II is expected to be launched in January in the south.
