In Madhya Pradesh, Mahavir Jayanti is being celebrated across the state with religious fervor and enthusiasm across the state. Religious processions are being taken out on this occasion by the followers of Jain sect and religious meetings (Dharam Sabhas) are being organized.In capital Bhopal , devotees thronged Jain temples to offer special prayers. Jain temples have been beautifully decorated to mark the occasion. A religious procession was taken out from the Chowk area of old city. Tableaus based on teachings of Lord Mahavir were centres of attraction in the procession. Followers of other religions welcomed the procession at different places.
