Mahatma Gandhiji rejuvenated while staying at Nandi Hills for 45 days

The father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, whose 150th birth anniversary is celebrated now had spent 45 days at Nandi Hills in April-May of 1936. Nandi hills is a small hill station near Bengaluru in Chikkaballapur district.<br />”<br />”<span style="color: #222222;">The Physician of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr.Jivraj Mehta had advised Gandhiji suffering from asthma and high blood pressure to take rest at Nandi hills. It is said that Gandhiji rejuvenated while staying in the Hills for 45 days. During the stay in the hills, Gandhiji visited Maduka Hosahalli village to attend bhajans. As a mark of respect, the village is now called Gandhipura. The place where Gandhiji stayed is called Gandhi Nilaya. It is today renovated by the Tourism department and tourists are allowed to stay in a portion. The garden attached to the building has a garden and a statue of Mahatma Gandhi.&nbsp;</span><br />
