A Mumbai sessions court today rejected the bail plea of Pune based stud farm owner Hasan Ali Khan and his associate Kashinath Tapuriah. Principal Sessions Judge Swapna Joshi rejected the bail petitions. She accepted the prosecution’s argument that granting liberty to Hasan Ali and Tapuriah at this juncture was not justified. Hasan Ali and Tapuriah were arrested by Enforcement Directorate in March this year.’ Opposing their bail, Enforcement Directorate Counsel, Ujjwal Nikam, alleged that Khan and Tapuriah had laundered 93 million dollars in foreign banks. He also alleged that 300 million had been obtained by Khan from sale of weapons.
