Maharashtra's Srishti Pandey clinches Indiana FIDE Rating Chess Tournament

Eleventh seed Srishti Pandey from Maharashtra has clinched the title of the Second Indiana All India FIDE Rating Chess Tournament which concluded in Nagpur. Srishti shared points with Avadh Chaitanya from Madhya Pradesh playing on the top board and ended with seven and half points each at the end of the ninth and last round of the Swiss-league tournament. Also, sixth seed Atul Dahale from Maharashtra defeated ninth seed Sai Agni Jeevitesh from Andhra Pradesh taking his tally to seven and half points. Therefore, Srishti took the crown on the on the basis of tie-breaker while Atul got second and Avadh Chaitanya claimed the third position.Similarly, nine players equalled the progressive score of seven points each during the keenly fought contest. After application of the tie-breaker, top-seed FIDE Master Vinaykumar Matta from Andhra Pradesh had to be content with the fourth position while another third seed FIDE Master Saurav Kherdekar from Railways was relegated to seventh position.
