Maharashtra's Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh has said that it would soon be made mandatory for hospitals having 50 or more beds to have their own medical oxygen generation plant. Chairing a round table seminar in Mumbai yesterday, Mr. Deshmukh said, the COVID-19 pandemic has proved how critical it is to have continuous supply of Liquid Medical Oxygen in order to save lives.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">Speaking about the last year and the efforts made to tackle the spread of Corona virus, Mr. Deshmukh said, setting up testing labs, converting medical colleges and universities into COVID Care Centres and ensuring that patients do not suffer due to lack of oxygen were some of the major challenges. He added that reopening of schools and colleges, without compromising on the safety and security of students, is a priority and efforts are being made to get kids back to school at the earliest.</span><br />
