<span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra's Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has clarified that he did speak to a few reporters who were waiting outside Nagpur's Alexis Hospital post his discharge on 15th February. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In a statement issued on twitter, Mr. Deshmukh said he was feeling weak and hence sat on a chair and answered the queries. He reiterated that post that presser, he was in home quarantine till the 27th of last month.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier today, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar had claimed that former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh's claims that Deshmukh met a few policemen and issued instructions regarding extortion of money in the month of February are baseless as the minister was recovering from coronavirus and was in home quarantine during the said period. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The opposition BJP, however, has alleged that the minister was indeed meeting people and released the video of the said press conference.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and  All India Congress Committee (AICC) Maharashtra in-charge, Mr. H. K. Patil has said that any decision on Anil Deshmukh's resignation will be taken by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said Congress' core committee members, Balasaheb Thorat and Ashok Chavan will meet Mr. Thackeray this evening to discuss the letter written by Parambir Singh.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">On the other hand, senior BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar has demanded that Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari must seek a report from the Chief Minister on the current fiasco and apprise President Ram Nath Kovind about the same. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Addressing a press conference in Mumbai today, Mr. Mungantiwar said a  BJP delegation will meet the Governor on Wednesday to press for this demand, adding that the serious allegations leveled against the Home Minister have gravely affected Maharashtra's image and standing. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Emphasizing on the party's demand for Deshmukh's resignation, the BJP leader said a fair and impartial probe led by a retired High Court Judge or a court monitored probe is essential to regain the state's glory.</span>
