In Maharashtra, polling for 123-gram panchayats, 106 Nagar panchayats, Zilla parishads or panchayat samities, and by-elections for three municipal corporations are being held today. AIR correspondent reports, Polling for Motala and Sangrampur Nagar Panchayat in Buldana district has begun from 7.30 in the morning and will go till 5.30 PM. In the state, polling are being held today for 106 Nagar Panchayats Zilla Parishads or Panchayat Samities, besides, polling for 123 Gram Panchayats in Beed district is also underway.<br />'' <br />'' By-Elections are being held for Dhule, Ahmednagar and Nanded-Waghala Municipal Corporations also.<br />'' <br />'' It may be noted that each Nagar panchayat has 17 seats with three or four seats reserved for OBCs. However, after the Supreme Court's order, these seats are being notified as General Category which has been opposed by the state government.<br />'' <br />'' While elections for these renotified seats are to be held on 18th January 2022, counting for all the seats will be held together on 19th January.
