Maharashtra is to recruit 13,000 more policemen soon to tone up security in the state. Home Minister R.R. Patil on Tuesday assured the members of the Assembly that adequate security has been installed in Mumbai to prevent any untoward incident. Responding to the discussion on the recent 13/7 blast, he said 5,000 CCTV cameras will also be installed soon.He, however, refused to comment more on it, citing security reasons. He also assured the members that Intelligence Bureau and costal security will be strengthened and Fishermen would be trained for the same. Rejecting any ‘irregularities’, Patil said that the bullet proof jackets used during 26/11 Mumbai Terror attack, were safe and tested before being put to use. Earlier in the day, Opposition Shiv Sena-BJP MLAs created noisy scenes by slogan shouting within and outside the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, seeking speedy execution of 26/11 terrorist Ajmal Kasab.
