Union Minister of Environment and Forest Jairam Ramesh has said that Maharashtra will soon have two more new Tiger reserves. Speaking at a function in Nagpur today, he said, Maharashtra is willing to declare Vidarbha’s Nagzira-Navegoan wildlife sanctuary and National Park as Tiger Reserve, besides the existing Bor sanctuary as a Tiger Reserve taking the total reserves in the State from existing four to six. Speaking on the proposal to establish the first Regional office of National Tiger Conservation Authority in Nagpur, the Minister said that the proposal is under consideration with the Finance Ministry and is expected to be cleared soon.
