Maharashtra State Senior Athletics Championship will have dope tests for 1st time

Maharashtra State Senior Athletics Championship will have dope tests for the first time ever in a state championship in Mumbai. The two-day Athletics Championship will begin on Tuesday. This was announced by the Athletics Federation of India president Adil Sumariwalla at a media briefing in Mumbai today.

The National Anti-Doping Agency-NADA will conduct dope tests. Mr Sumariwalla said that NADA has confirmed that three people will conduct the tests at the state meet. He said, there is zero-tolerance to doping and his association has pushed the government to have a dope control in every-single state meet. The Sports Ministry had recently asked the NADA to conduct dope tests for all state meets.
