A state-run transport (ST) bus carrying over 30 passengers fell into a gorge near Malshej ghat in Thane district of Maharashtra this morning. The accident happened when the bus driver lost control of the bus after colliding with a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The bus was going from Thane district towards Ahmednagar. According to the police control room, 12 people have been rescued so far. However, the death toll is not yet confirmed. Relief and rescue operations are on. The injured have been admitted in Murbad government hospital. More details are awaited
