<span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra has sought a report from the Central Archaeological Department on the maintenance of historical places, temples, and monuments in the state. Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council Dr. Neelam Gorhe in a press conference yesterday said a statement has been submitted to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla seeking a report from the Archeology Department on the expenditure incurred on the maintenance of Ekvira Devi Temple, Lenyadri Temple, and other historical religious sites in Maharashtra.<br />''<br />''Dr. Gorhe said that the historical places, temples, and monuments in the state come under the control of the Central Archaeological Department. She said the people of the state, as well as the state government, are not allowed to renovate or beautify these monuments even if they wish to and added saying the archeology department has not been repairing the same for many years. She said the condition of such places is getting worse, hence they have urged the Lok Sabha Speaker to look into the matter.<br />''<br />''In another development, Dr. Gorhe informed the state has decided to build Bhakti Niwas in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh for the convenience of the devotees and tourists visiting the places where Maharashtra has historical footprints. She informed me that the work will be planned in the near future under the guidance of the Speaker of the Legislative Council Ramraje Naik-Nibalkar.</span><br />
