Maharashtra government has sought legal opinion in the case against Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Pravin Togadia, who allegedly made a 'hate speech' in Nanded district last month. Speaking to reporters in Mumbai today, Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil said that the state government does not crush anybody's freedom of expression and hence was seeking legal opinion in the case.
He also refuted charges that there was a delay in filing the FIR and added that the decision to arrest Togadia will be taken by the concerned investigation officer.
Patil clarified that the state government would not tolerate anybody making inflammatory speeches and sowing seeds of hatred between communities.
