Maharashtra Finance Minister Ajit Pawar on Thursday announced a 2 per cent rollback of the proposed five percent Value Added Tax on Liquefied Petroleum Gas meant for domestic use.Pawar informed the state legislative council that the tax would be now 3 per cent, instead of 5 per cent.On Tuesday, Congress legislators led by state unit president Manikrao Thakre had met Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan and demanded withdrawal of the tax. Several NCP legislators had also demanded a rollback saying the LPG hike will affect the common man.
