<span style="color: #222222;">Maharashtra has reported 6436 new covid-19 cases today. With this, the state tally of covid-19 positive patients so far has reached 78,10,136. According to the state public health department, 24 people succumbed to the infection while 18,423 patients were discharged from various hospitals post-recovery in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate in the state is 96.76 percent whereas the case fatality rate stands at 1.83 percent. The state currently has 1,06,059 active cases.<br />'' <br />'' Mumbai, on the other hand, recorded 356 new covid-19 cases today taking the cumulative total to 10,50,811 while 5 people succumbed to the infection during the day. The city presently has 5139 active cases.<br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, till date, a total of 3334 patients infected with Omicron variant have been reported in the state. Out of these 2023 patients have been discharged following a negative RT PCR test.</span>
