Maharashtra reports 3,611 new cases of COVID-19

The number of coronavirus infected patients in Maharashtra has increased by 3000 for the fourth day in a row. The number of new patients remained below three thousand daily since January 20. But it has been increasing since the last four days, especially in Mumbai, Nagpur, Amrawati and Wardha. AIR correspondent reports that Maharashtra reported 3,611 new Covid – 19 cases yesterday, taking the state''s total caseload to 20,60,186.<br />''<br />''A total of 1,773 patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the overall number of recoveries to 19,74,248. The state now has 33,269 active cases. Over the last four days, the number of patients has been increasing by more than 3,000 per day.<br />''<br />''Over 6 lakh 83 thousand health and frontline workers have been vaccinated in the state so far. The second round of vaccination drive for healthcare workers will start in Maharashtra from tomorrow.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">In this vaccination drive, all those healthcare workers who have received their first dose and have completed 4-weeks period will be eligible for the second dose as per the standard guidelines laid down by the union health ministry.</span><br />
