Maharashtra reports 35,952 new cases of coronavirus infection

<span style="color: #222222;">Reporting its highest single-day spike till date, Maharashtra today reported 35,952 new cases of coronavirus infection, taking the total number of cases to 26,00,833.<br />'' <br />'' According to the state's public health department, 20,444 patients were discharged post recovery while 111 others succumbed to the infection. The number of total recoveries stand at 22,83,037 while the death toll has risen to 53,795. The number of active patients in the state stands at  2,62,685.<br />'' <br />'' Maharashtra's recovery rate stands at 87.78 percent while the case fatality rate stands at 2.07 percent. Maharashtra has conducted 1.88 crore coronavirus tests so far and the positivity rate stands at 13.78 percent.<br />'' <br />'' For the second day in a row, Mumbai recorded over five thousand new cases of COVID-19 today. With 5,504 new cases, the city's caseload has increased to 3,80,115. Mumbai reported  2281 recoveries and 14 deaths during the day. Mumbai has an active caseload of 33,961. It may be noted that the number of tests being conducted in Mumbai has increased exponentially with 46,869 tests being conducted in the last 24 hours.<br />''<br />''Besides, Pune reported 3340 new cases while Pimpri Chinchwad reported 1747 cases. While 2656 new cases were reported from Nagpur Municipal Corporation, Aurangabad recorded 1380 cases today. Cases in Nashik too increased by 2304 while Kalyan-Dombivli reported 1024 new cases.</span>
