<span style="color: #222222;">In Maharashtra, an earthquake warning system has been set up in the campus of Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar Solapur University. This system has been developed by Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), Mumbai. With this set up, an early warning of an earthquake in an area of about four and a half to five hundred kilometers from Solapur will be received fifteen days in advance.<br />'' <br />'' The center, which is called Radon Geo Station, was inaugurated today at the hands of Vice Chancellor Dr. Mrinalini Fadnavis.<br />'' <br />''The device developed by Bhabha Research Centre has been set up three feet below the ground and is powered by solar energy.
