In Maharashtra, while the process of scrutinizing the 10423 nominations filed by 7,199 candidates for the coming assembly polls is still on, the campaigning is gaining momentum. The Nationalist Congress Party will begin its campaign in Solapur today with Chief Sharad Pawar and other party leaders like R. R. Patil and Chhagan Bhujbal attending the rally. CPI(M)General secretary Prakash Karat will be touring the state to campaign for the party candidates. Shiv Sena has already started its campaign across the state. Sena executive Uddhav Thackeray would be visiting Vidarbha, Konkan, Marathwada and Western Maharashtra to address the party's election rallies. Shiv Sena spokesperson Neelam Ghore said a joint election manifesto of Shiv Sena and BJP for the October 13 assembly elections would be released by Uddhav Thackeray and BJP General Secretary Gopinath Munde in Mumbai tomorrow on the occasion of Dusshera. The last day for withdrawal of nomination is September 29.
