Maharashtra polls: Cong NCP ahead in 47, BJP-Shiv Sena in 41 constituencies

Trends are now available for 107 seats in Maharashtra. The Congress-NCP alliance is leading in 47 seats and BJP-Shiv Sena Combine is leading in 41, MNS in 2. Others are leading in 17 constituencies. The Chief Minister Ashok Chavan is leading in Bhokar constituency. Praniti Shinde, daughter of Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and NCP candidate is leading in Solapur city central. Former Deputy Chief Minister and NCP candidate Mohite Patil Vijaysinh Shankarrao is trailing in Pandharpur constituency.In Haryana, the Congress is leading in 8, INLD in 8 and BJP in 2 and others in 2. In Arunachal Pradesh, the congress has already won three seats and is leading in three. The counting of votes which began at 8 this morning is in progress at 288 centers in Maharashtra. Over 1.29 lakh state police and central para-military personnel have been deployed to ensure peaceful counting of votes. Adequate number of Central Para Military Forces have been deployed, mainly in naxal-infested districts like Gadchiroli, to assist the police. In Haryana, Counting is being held at 90 centres for an equal number of seats. Adequate Central Security Forces have been deployed to ensure smooth conduct of counting.
